As soon as your alarm goes off, drink a glass of warm lemon water to kickstart your digestion and flush out toxins. Lemons are packed with vitamin C, an antioxidant that boosts collagen production. Drop and give me 20…face wash squirts that is! Cleansing is the foundation of skincare, removing dirt, oil and leftovers from yesterday’s makeup. But take a gentle approach to avoid disrupting your skin barrier. That’s the outer layer protecting you from environmental damage.

I like milk/oil cleansers in the AM – they melt away grime without stripping essential moisture from skin. Massage the balm onto dry skin with soft, circular motions. The oils in the cleanser literally bind to sebum and makeup residue. Then splash face with lukewarm water until its squeaky clean. Pat dry with a soft towel. Your skin will drink in the hydration and feel supple AF!

Tone That Skin

After cleansing, it’s time to tone…as in freshen up your skin with a hydrating toner. These liquid elixirs add a critical layer of moisture to help other products absorb better. Look for soothing botanical ingredients like aloe vera, green tea and rose water. I spritz toner directly onto skin or saturate a cotton round and gently wipe over my face.

Pro tip: Pop your toner into the fridge! The cooling effect helps with inflammation, redness and under eye bags. Toners with antioxidants like vitamin C also work better at colder temps.

Serum…Say What?

Now we’re getting serious! Apply your choice of antioxidant, hydrating or brightening serum. These concentrated serums deliver active ingredients deeper into skin where they can work their magic.

Vitamin C is my numero uno for protecting against pollution and sun damage. Hyaluronic acid pulls in skin plumping moisture so you get that gorgeous glow. Retinol boosts new cell turnover, gradually improving texture, fine lines and pigmentation over time.

Moisturize and SPF!

You wouldn’t drive a car without gas right? Same concept applies to skin. Unless you wanna look crusty and mummified, you gotta fuel up with moisture. I slather on a nourishing day cream with SPF, the ultimate anti-aging protection. Exposure to UV rays from the sun accelerates collagen and elastin breakdown over time. No thanks!

SPF filters out harmful UVA/UVB rays and guards against photoaging. Look for broad spectrum formulas with at minimum SPF 30. I apply sunscreen to my face even when I’m inside because UVA rays still penetrate through glass. Safety first kids!

Beauty truly comes from within! After your skincare routine, blend up a yummy antioxidant-packed smoothie. My go-to combo is strawberries, blueberries, spinach and greek yogurt. This combo fights damage, hydrates skin AND gives an energizing kickstart to my mornings! Cheers to glowing skin
